About This Dog

Oakley's ideal home

Oakley can live with children of high school age but lacks the social skills to live with another dog at present. he is house trained but not used to spending any real time by himself so would need someone with him all day initially, working on building up his solo time. Oakley would benefit form some training and needs adopters that can physically handle his strength.

Could you be Oakley's perfect match?

Young Oakley is about to turn a year old and he's full of youthful enthusiasm and strength! He absolutely loves life and his taking his stay in kennels in his stride whist he waits for his new family. Oakley is going to need an adopter that is physically capable of handling his strength - he's not huge but he has power! When Oakley wants to see someone or go somewhere, he can be quite determined so some loose lead walking training would also help with this. He is a very friendly chap who loves to make friends and can become very excited when he sees other dogs. He doesn't yet have the social skills to be mixing off lead just yet as he can be very rough in play with them, but it's important that his adopters do keep up with some appropriate socialisation with him. Oakley loves his toys, especially running after balls or playing with tuggy ropes and can be quite vocal when playing. He's a boisterous boy but with some reward based training and guidance he has the potential to be a wonderful family pet.
