About This Dog for Adoption

Ella's ideal home

Although a young dog, Ella cannot live with other pets or children under the age of 16 due to her grabbing behaviour. She will need a family committed to some proper training, as well as all her basics. A few meets at the centre will be required before she goes home, along with a one to one session with our training and behaviour team.

Could you be Ella's perfect match?

Little Ella was born at a Dogs Trust centre and now she finds herself back and in need of another home. She is very settled in her kennel and curls up contentedly in her bed, wagging her tail at passers-by. She’s a very friendly dog with both humans and other pooches but she becomes over excited very easily. Ella has learned to grab the lead when she’s walking when she’s aroused, but as long as her handler stays calm and gently dissuades her from holding the lead, she can continue on her adventures. At times Ella has also grabbed people’s clothing which can be more disconcerting, so she will need ongoing training that will set her up for success in the future as she approaches adulthood. Ella is great when being handled, she likes a fuss and was a perfect patient for her vet check, she just needs to be kept calm. She’s a real sweetie and if we can get her on the right track with a committed family then everyone’s a winner. She loves other dogs but is often inappropriate with them, bouncing off them and occasionally grabbing them. Her adopters will need to keep her socialised but appropriately, so she can improve her social skills.
