About This Dog

Blu's ideal home

Meet Blu, a gorgeous and friendly Staffy who came into our care through no fault of his own. He’s a super cuddly and affectionate boy who absolutely loves attention, and because he enjoys having his people all to himself, he’ll need to be the only pet in the home. Blu has lived with children previously and would be happy sharing his home with late primary school-aged children and above, provided they’re comfortable with his enthusiasm and energy levels! Blu has already nailed his basic training, and his adopters should be committed to continuing his progress and helping him develop his skills further. He has also shown some separation-related behaviours, so his time home alone will need to be kept to a minimum initially and gradually built up. As Blu can be a little vocal when left alone, a more rural setting, with less proximity to close neighbours, would be ideal. Blu would absolutely love having his own secure, private garden where he can play, explore and enjoy his toys. The garden will need to have fencing of at least 6ft to make sure this bouncy boy can’t jump over it! Blu is a huge people person and will happily welcome visitors into the home with plenty of attention, cuddles and fuss

Could you be Blu's perfect match?

Despite finding kennel life stressful, Blu’s wonderful temperament has continued to shine through. He is a happy, friendly boy who greets his handlers warmly and enjoys spending time with people. Blu walks well on the lead, although he can sometimes become a little pully when saying hello to other dogs. Some ongoing lead training would help him continue to develop his skills and make his walks even more enjoyable. He travels wonderfully in the car and would love nothing more than to join you on your adventures, especially if there are plenty of treats and toys involved! Blu has shown some minor resource-guarding behaviours, particularly around certain toys and food, so his adopters should be prepared to continue working on this with him using positive, reward-based training. Blu is such a sweet and affectionate boy with so much love to give. With the right family, he’ll make a wonderful companion for an active, loving home and will be thrilled to be included in all of life’s adventures.
