About This Dog

Buddy's ideal home

Buddy is a two-year-old Boxer cross who is looking for a calm, adult-only home where he can feel safe, supported and given the time he needs to flourish. He would thrive best with patient adopters who have a secure garden, enjoy quieter walks and understand that confidence is something Buddy will build gradually. A home on the outskirts of a city or in a small town would suit him well, especially one with access to peaceful walking routes, as he can be sensitive to noise. Buddy finds being left alone worrying at the moment, so his new family will need to gently and steadily build up any alone time with plenty of reassurance. He would also benefit from slow, positive introductions to other dogs and visitors, ideally meeting new people outdoors first and being allowed to take things at his own pace while he settles.

Could you be Buddy's perfect match?

Once Buddy feels comfortable, his sweet and affectionate nature really begins to shine. He loves a good fuss and will happily lean in for more, soaking up every bit of attention from the people he trusts. Though he can be unsure around new faces at first, a little patience, kindness and the occasional bribe of cheese or hot dogs will quickly help him feel at ease. Buddy hasn’t had a huge amount of life experience yet, so he’ll need adopters who can slowly upon up his world. He’s already enjoying his walks at the centre and has made a few canine friends along the way. He’s clean in his kennel, was toilet trained in his previous home and, as his fitness improves, this young lad will relish longer adventures. With the right guidance and a gentle approach, Buddy will offer his adopters with loyalty, affection and the joy of watching a shy dog grow into a confident, playful companion.
