About This Dog for Adoption

Trixie's ideal home

Trixie is very undersocialised and needs a home free from other pets and children under the age of 12. She is house trained but may need a refresher after a short stay in kennels. She's also going to need all of her basic training.

Could you be Trixie's perfect match?

Trixie is a worried little thing who will hit the ground when she's worried or afraid and she's looking for a loving family that will help support her and build her confidence. She has only been out of the house once or twice since she was born and finds lots of things overwhelming, but she's beginning to explore and is getting used to wearing a harness and lead. Trixie is not as forthcoming s her sisters when it coming to seeking attention, but when she relaxes she remembers that she does actually quite like a gentle fuss. She is friendly with new people but likes to be able to investigate someone before they try to touch her. In the previous home, Trixie and co would chew boxes and furniture, but they never had anything appropriate to play with as young pups. It will be vital that nothing valuable is left for her to chew on when she goes home and she shouldn't be punished if she does, just guided onto something appropriate as she has never known any different. Trixie's new family must also be willing to work on some dog interactions with her as she doesn't know how to behave when she meets others. Advice and help is always available from the team at the centre and having a socialised dog will make life easier both for Trixie and her adopters. She is a young dog still at eight months and has a lot to learn but with the right support she has all the potential to become a wonderfully well rounded and confident adult dog.
