About This Dog for Adoption

Diesel (staffy)'s ideal home

Diesel is a one-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier looking for a loving home. He is looking to be the only dog in the home. He enjoys meeting other dogs when he is out and about, he can stare which can be a little intense for some. He enjoys a play if the other dog reciprocates. Diesel has lived with a cat before, any future cat would need to be dog savvy, confident and playful. Diesel has good history with living with children, he would suit a home with teens due to his size and bouncy nature. He is housetrained during the day but may have the odd accident at night. He is happy to travel in the car. He will need access to walks away from the road as he can lunge towards fast and loud moving vehicles. Diesel would best suit a quieter home environment and time left alone is best built up gradually. He is currently living off-site in a foster home on our Home from Home Scheme.

Could you be Diesel (staffy)'s perfect match?

Diesel is a handsome boy who is bigger than your average sized Staffy, weighing in at 30kg. He is a big softie, affectionate and loving. He loves to be close to his people and would sleep on top of them if he could. He enjoys playing with toys and sometimes de-fluffing them. He knows some basic training including a sit and down. He is instantly friendly with new people and an exuberant greeter. He loves his walks away from traffic and loves to explore new places. He is easily spooked if walking in the dark. He does well with reassurance from his people. He settles well in a home environment and is chilled out after he has had his exercise.

Staffie Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Staffordshire Bull Terrier.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Staffie Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
