About This Dog for Adoption

Macey's ideal home

Macy can live with high school aged children but will need to be the only dog at home. She's house trained and can be left alone for three or four hours once she has settled in.

Could you be Macey's perfect match?

Macey is a sweet three year old Staffy cross who isn't sure about the situation she finds herself in just now. She hasn't seen a great deal of the outside world and is a little overwhelmed at seeing so many dogs and people around her, she doesn't know what to do with herself. Macey has been introduced to a few dogs at the centre and we're working on building up her confidence a little at a time, to help her feel comfortable around others. We would recommend that her new family keep up her socialisation, but not to push her into anything she isn't comfortable with or ready for, it could be a slow process. Macey is wonderful with people, and gets very excited and wants to play. Unfortunately her previous family would encourage her to rag on towels, so she thinks our sleeves are game! We're gently discouraging this and giving her more appropriate toys to play with, which she does quite happily. Macey isn't used to walking on a lead, so this is something else new for her, the poor lass has a lot to get used to! She's very friendly with people but gets very overexcited when paid attention, so due to this and not having experience of being around young children, we'd advise any kids in the home should be aged 12 and over.
