About This Dog

King's ideal home

King is a handsome and happy 6-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross Dogue de Bordeaux who is looking for a home where he can enjoy plenty of adventures and time with his favourite people. He cannot live with other dogs, cats or small furries, although he would benefit from having suitable doggy friends to help him continue working on his social skills. We have no history of King around livestock. King could live with older secondary school-aged children and could cope with a reasonably busy household. He is housetrained, but his time left alone will need to be built up gradually as he is not currently used to spending time by himself. He can be strong on lead. King travels well in the car, although he can be worried by passing motorbikes and some dogs.

Could you be King's perfect match?

King is instantly friendly with people and loves greeting his human friends with plenty of excitement! He is a happy and affectionate boy who enjoys being around people and absolutely loves a cuddle. In fact, one of King's favourite things is snuggling up on the sofa for some quality cuddle time. When it comes to adventures, King is always ready to get out and explore! He particularly enjoys spending time in fields, where he can have a good sniff and enjoy the great outdoors. He also loves playing catch and fetch, making him a great companion for someone who enjoys getting involved in a game. King can be wary of some dogs, particularly if they bark at him, and he would benefit from walks in quieter areas away from loud, busy environments and places with lots of dogs. He can also have a strong chase drive towards cats, so his new owners will need to be mindful of this when out and about. King's recall will need some training, he would love access to secure fields where he can safely enjoy having a good run around and burn off some of his energy. King already knows sit, stay and paw, but he is a clever boy who would love the opportunity to continue learning new things. With the right family, plenty of positive experiences and lots of love, King is sure to make a wonderful and loyal companion. If you're looking for an affectionate adventure buddy who loves a game of fetch just as much as a cosy cuddle on the sofa, King could be the boy for you!
