About This Dog

Myla's ideal home

Meet Myla, a sweet, sensitive soul looking for her forever home. Myla is an 11-month-old Staffy cross with a gentle nature and so much love to give. She can be a little shy at first, but once she feels safe and comfortable, her affectionate and playful personality really shines through. Myla would thrive in a calm, understanding home with children aged 14 and over, where she can build her confidence at her own pace. She can feel worried around other dogs, so she’s looking for a home where she can be the only pet. That said, she is able to socialize with dogs out and about when given space and reassurance. She has a full home history, is house trained, and can be left alone for up to 3 hours. Myla already knows some basic commands including sit, down, and paw, and she’s eager to learn more with the right guidance. She will need some continued support with her recall as she’s still building confidence and focus outdoors. Myla loves her toys, especially a good game of tug of war, and playtime is a great way to bond with her. She can be a little restless in the car, so any new family should be prepared to help her feel more relaxed when travelling. With patience, kindness, and a steady routine, Myla will make a wonderfully loyal and loving companion. She’s just waiting for someone to give her the chance to blossom

Could you be Myla's perfect match?

This dog is currently being rehomed under our Homestay scheme. Under this scheme, the dog stays with their current owner until the point of adoption, when ownership transfers briefly to Dogs Trust and then to the new adopters. The benefits of Homestay for a dog are that it minimises disruption and prevents the dog having to come into kennels, however there is the potential the owner may pull out of the scheme prior to adoption. We understand the upset this may cause to potential adopters, and we work closely with owners to minimise the likelihood of this. However, it remains a possibility, and should this occur, Dogs Trust will prioritise finding adopters an alternative suitable dog.
