About This Dog

Dixie and Jax's ideal home

Dixie and Jax, a lovely bonded pair, are looking for a patient, understanding family who can help them continue to grow in confidence at their own pace. They’ll need adopters who are happy to take things slowly and enjoy building trust over time. They could live with confident children aged 14 and over, and once they’ve settled into their new routine, they can be left for 4–6 hours. Dixie and Jax will need to be the only dogs in the home, but they could have calm doggy walking friends. If you’re able to offer steady routines, gentle guidance, and plenty of affection once they bond with you, Dixie and Jax could be a perfect fit.

Could you be Dixie and Jax's perfect match?

Jax, a 3‑year‑old American Bulldog, is a big-hearted, bouncy lad who doesn’t always realise his own size. He can be a little unsure when meeting new people, but with reassurance he warms up quickly. Jax can be strong on the lead, but he’s already making good progress and will benefit from continued, positive training in his new home. He loves travelling in the car and is a huge fan of water—whether that’s splashing about outside or enjoying a bath! Jax enjoys the company of other dogs and is generally playful, polite, and friendly with them.
Dixie, a 2‑year‑old Staffy, is a sensitive girl who looks to Jax for confidence and support. She can be a little worried by unfamiliar people, so she’ll need a couple of gentle introductions before showing her affectionate, cuddly side. Once she knows you, she is incredibly loving. Dixie can also be unsure around other dogs and would benefit from ongoing socialisation.
Dixie and Jax are a bonded pair and must stay together—they are truly inseparable, and Dixie relies on Jax to help her feel safe. They’re happiest exploring the world as a team and will make a wonderful duo for adopters who enjoy helping nervous dogs blossom.
If you’re looking for a loving, loyal pair who will reward your patience with a deep bond, Dixie and Jax would love to meet you.
