Doris's ideal home

Delightful Doris, or Dodo as she's affectionately known is a wonderful 4 year old Crossbreed who arrived into our care after being found as a stray. Unfortunately we believe Doris has had a tough start to life and when she first arrived with us she was very underweight and bit of an anxious girlie. Since being with us, she has truly blossomed! Under guidance from our vet team she's slowly put on weight and has been nothing short of a delight to care for. Whilst she can be a little over excited at times, we think she could happily live with children of 8+ who are confident around larger dogs. She adores people and is a friend to everyone she meets out and about on her walkies. Doris will likely need some support settling into life in a home, which will include help mastering her housetraining and we recommend any time being left is built up gradually as she settles in but this shouldn't be for more than an hour or so. Doris can find meeting other dogs a little overwhelming, but she's been working hard on her polite social skills. Doris wears a muzzle out on her walkies and this has helped her feel more confident when meeting other dogs out and about. Whilst she will need to be the only in the home and her new family will need to feel confident with continuing her socialisation.

Doris is a wonderful girl and is super sweet. She has so much love to bring to her new family and despite her tough start to life, she has been nothing but tail wags and slobbery kisses with everyone who's had to pleasure of being her friend. We're sure she will thrive in a home all of her own where she can enjoy all the homey comforts she truly deserves! We have sought expert advice and do not believe that this dog would be considered a American XL Bully type. Sadly, Doris has had their ears cropped. This is illegal in the UK, and we absolutely do not condone it. We hope we can find Doris a loving home.
