Chopper
About This Dog
Chopper's ideal home
Chopper is a wonderfully friendly and enthusiastic boy who brings joy and energy wherever he goes. He would thrive in a moderately active home with caregivers who enjoy walks, playtime and continuing his training — especially around lead work, dog interactions and recall.
Chopper has previously lived with primary school‑aged children and was gentle, respectful and cuddly with them. He could happily live with children of a similar age again, with a bit of consideration for very young visiting children.
He is a bright boy who can become animated around other animals and may show chase behaviours, especially with cats. With dogs, he has his own preferences — he can be selective, but he has also mixed well with some canine friends in calm, controlled, on‑lead settings. With patient, positive training and steady guidance, Chopper has lots of potential to continue improving his dog‑to‑dog manners both on and off the lead.
Could you be Chopper's perfect match?
Chopper is an excitable, affectionate four‑year‑old Staffordshire Bull Terrier who has joined us through our Homestay scheme due to his owners' circumstances changing.
He’s a bright, loving boy who absolutely adores people and is always ready to lean in for cuddles and attention. He’s wonderfully social and loves greeting new friends, often pulling them in their direction for a quick hello. Chopper is also very food‑ and toy‑motivated — he finds treats, games and playtime hugely rewarding, which makes training fun and engaging.
Chopper is used to having company and is currently not left for long periods. When left, he may vocalise for the first 10 minutes before settling on his bed, and is typically left for around an hour. He will suit a home that can support short leaving hours and help him gradually build confidence with gentle routines.
He can be a little too excited in the car at the moment and finds it hard to settle, often moving around instead of staying still. With some patience and consistent practice, he has great potential to learn calmer car manners.
Chopper is a joyful, affectionate, people‑loving companion who will blossom in a home that can offer time, reassurance and continued positive training.
