Dexter is a lively and confident 9-month-old pup with a big personality and a love for meeting new people. Bursting with potential, he’s looking for an experienced home that understands the needs of a young, under-socialised dog who’s still learning the ropes—especially around other dogs. He does get easily frustrated and does find meeting new dogs worrying, our behaviour team will be available to assist with any ongoing training. He is still working on his lead walking and would thrive with continued training, patience, and positive reinforcement. Dexter can live with children aged 11+ who are confident around large, playful dogs and will give him the space and structure he needs to grow into a well-rounded companion.

If you’re an active, dog-savvy household with a secure, private garden and time to invest in a dog with heaps of character, Dexter could be the one for you. He has a medium energy level and can be left for 1–4 hours once he’s settled in, but he’ll benefit greatly from routine, structure, and consistency. While he may need time and guidance to become his best self, Dexter has all the makings of a truly amazing companion in the right home.
