About This Dog for Adoption

Missy's ideal home

Missy can live with children over the age of 16 and will need to be the only pet as she is choosy about doggy pals. She is house trained and can be left by herself for a few hours once settled in. Missy has a luxating patella but this doesn't bother her daily life.

Could you be Missy's perfect match?

Missy is a unique little dog who is playful and affectionate and has a desperate need to be in your lap! She’s been in our care since August 2024 and we’ve watched her grow in confidence and relax in her environment. She is madly in love with her favourite people, but she does like to be given time to build trust initially. Missy can be anxious and a little needy but she enjoys getting out of her kennel for her daily walks and a play in our off-lead areas, where she’ll parade around with a toy in her mouth for as long as she can! She even went on a trip to Pets At Home to pick out her own treats and toys! She just loves cuddles from carers but becomes very worried during her veterinary exams and does wear a muzzle for this, but as long as she has her trusted handlers nearby, she’s more accepting of formal handling. Her ideal adopters will be patient and understanding and happy to take it slow and accept her quirks, such as refusing to go out after dark! This will give Missy the best chance of success in her new home. Missy has had mixed reactions when meeting other dogs and she is initially friendly and relaxed but doesn't enjoy close interactions. She can have friends outside the home but would be happiest as the only dog and wouldn't want off lead play. She is an anxious little thing and it seems she sometimes expects the worst to happen, but if you’re looking for a friend who will love you back tenfold and wants to go everywhere with you, Missy could be your perfect match.

Staffie Puppy Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Staffordshire Bull Terrier.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Staffie Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
