About This Dog for Adoption
Bella's ideal home
Beautiful Bella is an 11-and-a-half-year-old Staffy who is on the lookout for a calm and cosy retirement home. She is happiest in a peaceful environment where life moves at a gentle pace and she would love a quiet household with minimal comings and goings. Bella will need to be the only pet in the home, but she is happy to have calm dog friends when out on her walks. She can live with children aged 12 and over who understand that she needs her own space at times.
Bella would really appreciate a private garden where she can potter about and enjoy some sunshine. She is a low-exercise girl who will enjoy short strolls followed by plenty of sofa snuggles. She finds new people and places a bit worrying at first, so her new family will need to be patient and willing to build her confidence at her own pace. Bella is not used to wearing a harness, so this is something she will need to take slowly and with lots of positive encouragement.
Initially, Bella will need her family around most of the time while she settles, but once she feels safe she should be able to gradually build up to spending short periods on her own. She has travelled calmly in the car and has been relaxed around traffic, so exploring new places together could be something to enjoy once she is settled.
Could you be Bella's perfect match?
If you are after a sweet, affectionate companion who will happily spend her days curled up beside you, Bella might be just the girl you are looking for. She loves a good cuddle with her favourite people and is quick to offer affection once she feels comfortable. Bella enjoys her treats (especially meaty ones!) and takes them gently, although she may try her luck with a bit of pouch raiding if someone is sat on the floor with snacks.
Bella is a curious girl who likes to explore new areas, although she will soon let you know if she is ready to move on by waiting at the gate. She has shown she is not a big fan of toys and would much rather enjoy your company or a tasty treat. While she has picked up basic commands like ‘sit’, she has not had extensive training, so her new family should be ready to help her adjust to home life at her own pace and support her with her new housetraining skills as she settles in.
Bella does have some potential ongoing medical costs which the team will be happy to discuss with anyone interested in offering her a forever home. With time, patience and plenty of love, Bella will make a devoted and affectionate best friend who deserves the comfy retirement she dreams of.
