About This Dog for Adoption

Cherry's ideal home

Cherry is a beautiful 4-month-old Staffy Cross puppy who had a very difficult start to life. She has been left very worried by the world and can be very shy around people and places she doesn't know. She will need her new family to be around all the time for quite a while to gradually settle her in and build her confidence slowly. Ongoing training is a must, but she has already learned some of the basics and is almost housetrained too! She must be the only pet in her home for now as she will need to continue her socialisation training which we can help and advise with along the way. A secure garden will be needed so she has somewhere she be off-lead to play. Due to Cherry's need for a calm and predictable routine, children will not suit her so her home will need to be adult only.

Could you be Cherry's perfect match?

Cherry was born at the rehoming centre but was sadly the 'runt' of the litter. She struggled to keep up with her bigger siblings but we managed to help keep her going and she's now showing huge potential. She is a bit of a worrier and finds new people and places very scary, but with slow and gentle introductions she is making good progress. Once she feels safe, she is actually a fun, playful and quite clever girl! She can get quite affectionate when the mood takes her too. She is learning how to be around other dogs and this will be helped by her attending our Dog School Puppy Training classes, which we'll discuss with her new family. If you are looking for a playful young lass to join your home and you are around most of the time (maybe working from home) and are prepared to put in some good training work initially, then you might be a good match for Cherry.

Staffie Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Staffordshire Bull Terrier.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Staffie Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
